Minnesota School of Martial Arts is proud to be affiliated with Cleber Jiu Jitsu, of the Gracie Jiu Jitsu Lineage. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) has been called the “gentle art” meaning it was designed to utilize leverage and submissions to defend against a larger opponent and does not use striking. BJJ requires skillful technique and strategy to beat an opponent, an can be known as “a game of human chess”. It has been shown to be a very effective martial art for self-defense. By using both cardio and resistance exercises, BJJ practitioners become physically stronger while building self-confidence and mental fortitude while encouraging drive and overcoming challenges mentally and physically.
